This year's reunion started Friday, August 8, 2008. A bonfire was held at Lisa Bartlett's in Eagle.  There was supposed to be a photo hunt before the bonfire, but most of the people that had signed up never showed.  We had spent countless hours taking pictures of GL landmarks in cryptic ways to be identified.  Rules formed, pictures and clues printed, packages bundled. Most of the work was done by Pam Shirey wiith a lot of help by Cindy Jepsen.  We won't do it again....  The actual bonfire and "party" went pretty well.  A hearty thanks to Lisa Bartlett for volunteering her place for us to use.  We're thinking of making a bonfire part of a yearly reunion party.... What are your thoughts?
Saturday, we had a pavilion in Fitzgerald Park reserved for informal meeting of classmates.  Again, not a lot of us showed.  But we who came had a good time.
Saturday night activities were held at the Prairie Creek Banquet Center in DeWitt.  Largely unstructured.  Our "dinner" was not a sit down style that we were used to but an Hors D'Oeuvres buffet.  Cash bar and free beer...visitation with friends....music that we couldn't hear because of the din of voices (after all, it's the reacquaintance of friends that's important here...). Showing on the wall all night was a slide show of past reunions put together by Gary and Laura (Bouck) Martzke.  Pictures were taken during the night by several people and will show up on this website. The hall shut down and everyone was out by midnight.
Sunday at 11:00 three foursomes teed off at Prairie Creek for an 18 hole scramble.  Team Dell (Dan Dell, Ted Koch, Brent Hadfield, Tom Akright) won with a -6 score.  Second was a group of singles (Vicki (Roesch) Paski, Mike Brandell, Mark Fenstemaker, Ron Millbrook) at -2.  Bringing up the rear was a pair of pairs (Pam (Baker) and Jim Shirey, Char (Byers) and Doug Sherman) with a +9.  (OUCH!!).  Prizes were donated by Terry Koch, mgr of the Hastings Country Club.  Thanks Terry!  Afterwards, we all enjoyed the many tales told by master storyteller Ted Koch.  He had us in stitches!  Party split up around 9 pm...

Overall, a real good time was had by all..
