Diane Fay Hennesey, 65, of Grand Ledge, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 29, 2021. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on April 17, 1955 to Les and Corinne Hennesey. Diane graduated from Lansing Christian High School in 1973. She then attended Taylor University before working for the State of Michigan for most of her career, retiring in 2018. She stayed busy in her community and recently volunteered in the 2020 political campaign. Diane was beautiful, inside and out. She was a life-long follower of Jesus Christ who spent many years at Grand Ledge Baptist, as well as Trinity Church in East Lansing. She quickly shared her relationship with Jesus with others. Diane made many friends and enjoyed nurturing each friendship. She was fun-loving and laughed often. Her laugh was contagious and can still be heard in the recesses of our memories. God had also given Diane a beautiful voice which she used to bless others, by singing solos at church as well as for special occasions. That angelic voice will be missed. Diane had a gift for seeing the beauty all around her and found ways to bring that beauty into all she did. She was adept at gardening, growing beautiful flowers to share. In recent years she had fun growing vegetable gardens too. Antiquing was a hobby of hers. She used her finds to decorate her charming home. Her artistic abilities were used to make gorgeous wreaths and candles. Diane’s family was the heart of her! She was the one to bring the family together, for a holiday picnic, a camping trip, a pool party, a day at the lake or birthday celebrations. She was an excellent cook, but her recipes were impossible to duplicate because they were “a little of this & a little of that.” She adored her great nieces and nephews and made her visits with them full of fun. Straight forward and honest, Diane treasured her family, passionately making and carrying on family traditions. Diane was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her three brothers: Michael Hennesey and wife Linda, James Hennesey and wife Cynthia, Daniel Hennesey and wife Janey. She is also survived by her nieces Jennifer (Scott) Kempf, Amy (Calvin) Ackley, Maria Loerke, and nephew Aaron (Kimberly) Hennesey and five great nieces and seven great nephews. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
The family is being served by Palmer, Bush & Jensen Funeral Homes. Memorial gifts may be made to Women At Risk. Condolences may be sent to www.palmerbush.com
