1988 notes:
This year's team led by all-stater Dan Clevenger and senior John Elder was very good and finished 8th at the State Meet. Dan finished 8th overall there.
Clevenger set a new course record at Fitzgerald Park and another at Waverly.
Former GL distance runner standout (1969-72) and future GL Cross Country/Track coach Kim Spalsbury is voted coach of the year by the Lansing State Journal for coaching his Fowler HS boys and girls teams to their first ever class D state titles.
