1989 notes:
This year's team led by all-staters junior Andy McCoubrey and sophmore Ron McEnhill who finished 7th and 14th respectively at the State Meet.
McCoubrey set a new course record at Sexton.
Former GL distance runner standout (1969-72) and future GL Cross Country/Track coach Kim Spalsbury was voted coach of the year for the second year in a row by the Lansing State Journal for coaching his Fowler HS boys and girls teams to their second consecutive class D state titles.
